Getting an accurate barbell row estimate
- Pick one style, from the floor or from hang, and keep it.
- Count only reps where the bar touches your torso at the same spot.
- Because body English creeps in, estimates from heavy singles are less reliable than from sets of 5 to 8.
- Track the estimate over time rather than comparing it to someone else's.

Questions
Can I calculate a one-rep max for barbell rows?
Yes. Enter the weight and reps from a strict set. The estimate is only meaningful if you row the same way each time.
What is a good set to estimate a barbell row max from?
A hard set of 2 to 6 reps with the same form on every rep. For example, 155 lb for 8 reps gives an estimated barbell row one-rep max of 192.4 lb.
